Arts

Tandem Friends has a long tradition of commitment to and accomplishment in the fine and performing arts. The fine arts program provides students the opportunity to develop skills needed for alternative channels of self-expression. All students are encouraged to develop and explore their unique potential in the creative arts, whether it be through visual arts, digital arts, music or drama.

In the Middle School, the arts are a daily part of life. Fifth through eighth graders take one semester of drama and one semester of art each year. Fifth graders take an Introduction to Music class. Other Middle School grades can choose to be involved in String Ensemble and there is an eighth grade rock band.

In the Upper School, arts electives abound - from digital film, to visual arts, to drama, to Jazz Band and String Ensemble. Upper School drama productions are extra-curricular, with rehearsals after school.
