9th Graders Encamped in North Carolina
Posted 09/10/2012 03:22PM

Tandem's 9th grade has embarked on an inaugural wilderness trip led by Head of School Andy Jones-Wilkins. The group departed in busses yesterday morning and will spend the rest of the week in Tsali National Recreation Area in North Carolina camping and enjoying group activities such as mountain biking, white water rafting, learning about local Native American culture and history, creating Native American art, storytelling, performing community service, and more.

Students are completely 'unplugged' for the week and are joined by teachers Jocelyn Camarata, Jason Farr, Pru Huddleston and Janet Legro. There were tents and sleeping bags stacked high, and lots of fun campfire recipes being discussed. We wish them wonderful weather, enduring camaraderie, and safe adventures as they make unforgettable memories together. We will see them again late Friday afternoon.
