Creating accurate bibliographic citations begins at the note-taking stage of your research. Although citation guidelines vary, there are some standard elements to record:
-Volume or issue number of article
-Place and date of publication
-Page numbers for article
For electronic sources you will also need to record:
-Date you accessed the site
Footnotes, endnotes, parenthetical notes, bibliographies, and works cited lists give your readers the information they need to find your source material. They identify and acknowledge all works used to produce your report. You must identify all of your sources, including images. Regardless of your intent, failure to acknowledge your use of another person's work constitutes plagiarism.
