Heroes and Heroines
Katie Marshall
Together we will create our own heroes and heroines, be they
wand-wielding fairies or saber-swinging samurais. We will
create brilliant schemes about how our heroes save the day.
We will bring our story to life by studying other heroes and
heroines from Pippi Longstocking to Harry Potter. We will
paint and draw our villains and heroes. At the end, each child
will have their very own illustrated book. (1,2,3)
Veil Painting
Isabelle Abbot
Learn to layer watercolors to create magical, mystical scenes
of mountains and valleys, fairies and princes, and anything
else you can imagine! In veil painting, you let one layer
dry before you paint the next and as you build up layers you
create beautiful colors and soft images that seem to come
from a world of magic and mystery. (1,2,3)
Art From the Forest Floor
Isabelle Abbot
Let’s let nature be our guide and explore what we can create
from the things we find under our feet, gathering inspiration
from the forest floor. We will use what we find to make prints,
create collages, and learn to observe the details of leaves,
sticks, acorns, and anything else you can find out there!
We will end the class by working together to create our own
forest floor in a mural. (1,2,3)
Sherwood Forest
Katie Marshall
Would you like to be Maid Marian, Robin Hood or Fryer Tuck?
Enter into the world of Robin Hood and his Merry Men. We will
make our own Robin Hood hats, and bring scenes to life through
acting and drawing and storytelling. We will go on treasure
hunts, searching for emeralds and gold to help the poor, and
create our own Sherwood Forest accessible only with secret
passwords. (1,2,3)
What’s Your Favorite Color?
Lynn Ramson
Let’s learn about the color spectrum and what happens when
we mix different colors together. Using paint, crayons, colored
pencils, beads, polymer clay and more, you will see how adding
just a little bit of one color can change another color a
whole lot! You will make a variety of projects to take home,
including one that lets you pick your favorite color and make
something extra-special with it. (2,3)
Creations in Wood
Judy Cahill
Learn to work with wood and hand tools in a safe, fun environment.
Choose one of many projects such as a tic-tac-toe board or
a marble maze. How about a bug barn or a paddle boat? Use
your imagination, and fly off in a model air-plane you built
yourself. Need a sword and shield to protect your castle?
Make one! Finish one project, then on to the next! (Session
2 only, limited to 8)

jigs and maybe a figure dance or two. Our feet will take us
over the rainbow. (1,2,3)
