Tandem SAGA Students Show Support for Western Albemarle's SAGA Group

Upper and Middle School SAGA’s joined forces one day this week to make cards and supportive gifts for members of the LGBTQ community at Western. In a morning meeting announcement, 8th grader Oliver shared a public service announcement about Turning Point USA’s speaker at Western Albemarle Highschool on Nov 19th. Oliver shared that, "Turning Point USA is a non-profit which spreads anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric to students around the country. Turning Point is sending a speaker with a presentation called “Two Genders One Truth” to speak with one of the school’s lunch groups. Western’s Gay Straight Alliance is feeling unsafe, unvalidated, and unwelcomed in their school. Tandem's SAGA is organizing to send support and love to Western Albemarle’s GSA group...SAGA members are going to be making cards, crafts, and other tokens of our support. Anyone can join us in the art room today in support of Western Albemarle’s LQBTQ+ and allying students and staff."
