Art Students 'Draw Charlottesville'

Upper School students in Lou Haney's Foundations of Art class recently worked on a project with Draw Charlottesville , a program that encourages artists of all ages and levels of ability to produce and share original sketches of buildings, neighborhoods, or places in Charlottesville that mean something to them. Draw Charlottesville then posts the drawings on their Instagram site to share diverse perspectives and show what's important to community members.

Tandem students in the Foundations of Art class used Draw Charlottesville prompts to do some drawings that focused on place and perspective. Draw Charlottesville leaders Andrea Trimble and Jessica Penca then  virtually visited the class last week to give feedback to the students. Some of the drawings students created were featured on the Draw Charlottesville blog and Instagram site. Our students did an awesome job! Check it out at
