8th Graders Produce Creative Independent Study Projects

History teacher Brandon Perry's 8th grade students just finished an independent case study project. Each student chose a topic of interest from modern history and developed a driving question to guide their research. They then took on a real-world role to creatively display their findings. Some creative displays included podcasts, documentaries, newspaper articles, and wardrobe design that demonstrated key moments of an individual's life. Check out some of the awesome creations for their research topics that included:
  • Power of multinational corporations
  • Josephine Baker's role in the World War 2 Resistance
  • Jumo Kenyatta's role in Kenyan independence
  • Islamophobia
  • Xenophobia and US immigration
