Upper School Artists Impress with 'Making Visible' Project

Upper School artists in Art class with teacher Susan Brodie created some amazing work with 'Making Visible - A Portrait Project.' For some, this is the first pencil drawing they have done and for the vast majority it is the first portrait they have ever drawn. The project's mission states that : "Artists often create art that makes things and people visible that are otherwise unseen. Our portrait project is to make visible those Americans who have made incredible contributions to our country and society (in the sciences, math, literature, and arts) and yet have not been given the credit they deserve because of systemic racism. These portraits will help make individuals known and seen and we will celebrate them in our community." Our student's portraits were hanging in the Blue Room of the Main Building for quite some time and were really worth a look. Check some out in the photos - to see all of them, click here for a slideshow.
