Blue Ridge Day

One day each fall the entire school enjoys a walk in the woods and then fun fall-themed activities back on campus.  Blue Ridge Day is an annual tradition at Tandem Friends.
On Wednesday, the entire community enjoyed a gorgeous fall day, perfect for a hike. The Upper School set out for their hike first and had Meeting for Workship at the Palmer Woodland Theater along the Saunders-Monticello Trail. The Middle School left campus a bit later to accommodate play rehearsal for the 8th grade production of Into the Woods and had a walking Meeting for Workship. When everyone returned to campus, they enjoyed time by fire pits with cider and s'mores before listening to a vivacious open mic that showcased student talent. What a wonderful day, thanks in large part to the parents who provided and served autumn goodness. You can see a video of the open mic on our Facebook page.
