  Tandem Volleyball Player Honored in 2022 All Central Virginia Team

  Congratulations to Tandem senior Anna W who was named to the 2022 All Central Virginia Volleyball Team, Honorable Mention for the second year straight. Anna has received this honor twice in a largely public school dominated field of players. Anna's great play this season helped lead the Badgers to an undefeated GPAC conference record and both the conference regular season and tournament championships. Anna was also named GPAC Player of the Year. Check out the full All Central Virginia team here.

• Varsity Basketball Player Succeeds On and Off Court

  Tandem senior point guard Tvo Gardner recently received the Player of the Week award given by The Daily Progress. On the court, he's helped lead the Badger varsity boys basketball team this season by averaging 25.2 points, 4.1 assists and 2.7 steals a game. He scored a career best of 37 points in a December game win against Quantico. Off the court, Tvo is also a success in the business world, managing his own clothing brand, Glory Days. He also maintains a huge social media presence on TikTok with almost 800,000 followers. He's also a great student and a kind and compassionate community member. This week, he brought in a bin of his merchandise to give away - once word got out, it was gone in munutes!

  All Three Varsity Fall Coaches Earn Coach of the Year Honors

  Tandem coaches are the best - literally! All three of our fall varsity coaches were honored as Coach of the Year by our conference, the Greater Piedmont Athletic Conference. Jason Farr (also an Upper School history teacher at Tandem) won for varsity cross country; Nate Adkins (also an Upper School math teacher at Tandem) won the accolade for boys soccer; and, Scottie Chambers (also a Class of 2015 Tandem alum) won for varsity volleyball. That's a clean sweep of Coaches of the Year for Tandem, not to mention the number of championships and all-conference athletes they produced. We couldn't be prouder of our coaches and of the fine, award-winning athletic program at Tandem Friends School.

  All-Conference and All-State Honors Abound for Fall Varsity Athletes

  The fall season is officially over for our varsity Badgers. We're so proud of these winning and championship teams, and also of the many individual Badger athletes who were singled out as recipients of All-State and All-Conference honors. Our three varsity teams produced three All-State honorees, a conference Player of the Year, nine 1st Team All-Conference honorees, and four 2nd Team All-Conference honorees. Wow! In cross country, seniors Theo A, Max F and Michael O were named to both the All-State and All-Conference teams while seniors Devin M, Mia P and Charlotte G and 8th grader Hayes B made the All-Conference team. In volleyball, Senior Anna W was named Conference Player of the Year while senior Talia S made 1st Team All-Conference and senior Lilly C made 2nd Team All-Conference. In soccer, senior Carlos G made 1st Team All-Conference and seniors Jacob C, Parker L and Jaden R made 2nd Team All-Conference. Congratulations to our fall varsity athletes for their great accomplishments!

  Volleyball Champions 2022 - Tandem Clinches Two Titles

  Tandem's varsity girls volleyball team won the GPAC Conference Championship on Friday, defeating Highland in four sets in an exciting matchup. The girls headed into the tournament as regular season champions, undefeated in the conference. They hosted the semi-finals and finals, and added Tournament Champions to their season accolades. All-Conference honors were abundant as well, with senior Anna W named GPAC Player of the year, senior Talia S first team, and senior Lilly C second team. Coach Scottie Chambers (TFS '15) was named GPAC's Volleyball Coach of the Year. Congratulations to all on a fabulous Badger season!!
