Alums Visit 6th Grade PE Class

Tandem has the most amazing alums - always willing to give back. 6th grade PE students today got a surprise when two alums came to their class to talk and join them in some fun and games. Latrell Winkey (TFS '18, who graduated from VCU) and Javon Carter (TFS '17, who graduated from VA State and coaches several Tandem students through Boys and Girls Club) came to Tandem today to visit former teachers and coaches, and each other, and ended up in the gym mentoring 6th graders in PE class through words and actions. Both alums are looking into graduate counseling and social work programs in order to pursue working with young people.
