Students Attend Conservation Lobby Day in Richmond

On Wednesday, a group of middle and upper school students braved the cold and a very early start to travel to Richmond for Conservation Lobby Day. This event was sponsored by the Virginia Conservation Network. Students learned about legislation related to Virginia's participation in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, coal ash cleanup, energy efficiency, protection of the Chesapeake Bay, smart growth initiatives and the list goes on. Christine and Doug were very impressed by our students. Many of them took the time to research specific topics of interest and they were quite articulate in communicating their concerns with their elected representatives.
