PE Teacher/Dean Wins Best in Black Cville Award

For the second year in a row, Tandem PE teacher and Middle School Dean Avis Fields has been voted the top local Health and Wellness professional at the 5th Annual Best in Black Cville awards. Avis was nominated and voting for the awards began in early summer and culminated in winners being honored at Best in Black Cville 2025: A Night of Black Excellence, held at The Paramount Theatre on August 15. Avis was in attendance to receive her award in person. The Best in Black Cville awards are "voted on by the people, for the people, this powerful ceremony honors 30+ community-nominated changemakers, entrepreneurs, creatives, leaders, and legends whose impact is felt far beyond the city limits. From cultural catalysts to local icons, this is the moment where our community gathers to lift them up and cheer them on." Congratulations to Avis on being named best health and fitness coach for two years in a row!
