5th Grade Scientists Tracking the Sun's Position and Celebrating 38N

Almost every week this year, 5th grade scientists have measured the length of a meter stick's shadow at noon. Why? They are using their data to track the position of the sun and have also determined the photo period each week this year. They also took a few moments on Blue Ridge Day to celebrate our 38oN location in the world (exact 38oN happens to be located just behind Monticello High School, hence their photo locale).
