Varsity Boys Basketball Team Wins DAC Tourney

The varsity boys basketball team clinched both the Delaney Athletic Conference regular season championship, and the DAC tournament championship on Saturday with a stunning last-seconds victory over Quantico in the tourney finals held at Highland School.
The team started the game with a good lead, but Quantico closed the gap by the half. The second half proved to be a real nail biter, with sophomore Logan Ratzlaff landing a key three-pointer towards the end to propel the Tandem boys forward. Junior Latrell Winkey then hit the free throw line twice, sinking one, and in the final seconds of the game, stole the ball from Quantico and sunk a 2-pointer with just three seconds on the clock. Tandem had a large group of fans in attendance who then took the floor in celebration.

Winkey scored 23 points in the game, adding 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 steals to the mix. Ratzlaff put up an impressive 18 points, along with some key rebounds and assists. Senior Aslan Urushanov sunk four 3-pointers and made three steals, while senior Rodes Jarman put up 6 points and got some great assists before getting into foul trouble.
