  • Week #18 - A Historic Afternoon: JV Girls Basketball Take the Floor!

    Dave Levy, Athletic Director
The Tandem Class of 2027 has been the core of the Girls Basketball program for a long time. They played Varsity as 8th, 9th and 10th Graders  - constantly improving - and often with little depth or upperclassmen on the roster. Last season, they were joined by two Seniors and two 8th Graders, and the roster began to grow! This year even more reinforcements arrived resulting in the need for some JV Basketball games. This afternoon, the JV Badgers took the court together for the first time, many of them playing new positions, representing the future of the program.

  • Week #18 - Exciting MS Double Header in the Den!

    Dave Levy, Athletic Director
    Middle School Boys Basketball

Down 6-0 early in the game, Trenton changed the momentum as he went to the rim and drew a foul. On the next possession, Trenton drew the defense, now off balance, and found Isaiah open on the block for a lay up. The Badgers held CDS scoreless for the last three minutes of the first quarter - Elias was a force on the block when Ryan and Aven defended the top of the key. In the second quarter, sensing a need for a scoring push, Kai got open from the left wing and let it fly. With a beautiful follow through, Kai's shot tickled the twine. Working closely with Jayceon, who had a game high 17, the Badgers scored 7 in the second quarter.

  • Week #18: SWEEP - Badgers Win All Three Against RMA in the Den!

    Girls Varsity Basketball

It has been 359 days since the 2024-2025 Varsity Girls Basketball home opener, a battle between Tandem and RMA. The Badgers mustered just nine points that afternoon, a 41-9 loss. Since that day, the squad has worked hard to improve, winning big games last season against Stuart Hall and Saint Michael's. They did so with a young roster that included two eighth graders and a slew of hard-working sophomores who had been the core of this program for three years. With the arrival of reinforcements and a dramatic improvement in the effort of this young team, the Badgers made a statement tonight - Tandem is a force to be reckoned with, with a deep roster, and had better not be taken lightly.

  • Week #17 - JV Boys Basketball Wins BIG Against Monticello!

    Dave Levy, Athletic Director
    JV Boys Basketball

Monticello High School, our across the street neighbors, enrolls over 1,300 students. Last season, our JV Boys Basketball team played them twice - once at Tandem and once on the road. While the Badgers played hard, neither game was close, which was to be expected, given the difference in size. As the Monticello JV Boys walked across the street this afternoon, they may have imagined another easy win - but this Badger team is different - and Tandem made sure that nothing was easy for their opponent throughout their home opener in the Badger Den.

  • Week #17 - MS Basketball and V Track and Field Badgers Bring Their Best on the Road!

    Dave Levy, Athletic Director
    Girls Middle School Basketball

Sitting in a chair with her hands up in a defensive position, Hadley modeled what defensive intensity should look like. On the ground to her right were two crutches, reminders of the injury she suffered early in the season. She didn't know if she'd be able to play again this year. Most athletes would have stayed home, but Hadley, a strong leader, not only provided support and knowledge to her teammates, but she also participated in nearly every drill.  She served as a seated passer, defender, or rebounder - doing whatever it took to help the team grow.

Her commitment and hard work paid off - now she's cleared to play - and made an impact right off the bat! Driving right down the middle, Hadley made a beautiful floater to score our first basket of the game. She took command of the offense, running the point, and setting up her teammates for success. Between her strong take and Zuri's put back, the Badgers got off to a great start, trailing 6-5 after the first quarter.
