Thanks for joining us on Sunday, April 26 for the inaugural Tandem Friends School 5K Fun Run & Walk. This was our major fundraiser for the spring and was a wonderful community celebration of movement, connection, and support for Tandem Friends School, where we are committed to curiosity, compassion, and courage in learning.

Whether running for a personal best, walking with friends, or cheering from the sidelines, this event welcomes participants of all ages and abilities. Just like Tandem’s athletics program, where every student has the opportunity to play, our 5K is about participation, encouragement, and community spirit.

At Tandem Friends, fundraising is a no-cut sport – and everyone can be part of the team. Every step you take helps support the programs, people, and experiences that make Tandem Friends such a vibrant place to learn and grow.

Q: Where will the race take place?

The race will take place in Darden Towe Park (1445 Darden Towe Park, Charlottesville, VA 22911) and will begin at 9am.
Q: What is included in my registration fee?
Your registration fee includes:
- timing by Blue Ridge Timing
- race t-shirt (NOTE: only early registrations are guaranteed shirts!)
- water + snacks
Q: Will the race be timed?

The race will be chip timed by Blue Ridge Timing.
Q: Can kids run this race?

Yes! This is a family-friendly event and kids ages 8+ are welcome to register and run.
Q: Are strollers or dogs allowed on the race course?

No strollers or dogs will be allowed on the race course.
Q: What is the cancellation policy?

There are no refunds. This is a rain or shine event!

In the unlikely event of cancellation, Tandem Friends will send an email to all registrants, and post on our social media channels.

You can become a supporting sponsor of the 2027 Tandem Friends 5K Fun Run & Walk.
