6th grade English classes are working on their final project of the year. They are composing argumentative essays convincing me that one of the books that they read this year should remain in the 6th grade curriculum. Students will make a claim about why the subject matter is relevant to 6th graders, research the social issue that is addressed in the book, and then support their position using evidence from reliable sources. Students will focus on proper paragraphing, using transition words and phrases effectively, and crafting in text citations. ~ Christina Davis
