9th Grade TED Talks Abound with Wisdom

9th graders working with the Integrated Science, History and English team are putting the finishing touches on their TED Talks on 'what is the meaning of life?' Each student pondered the question and wrote about what they considered the meaning of life to be, then they took their scripts to local filmmaking hub Light House Studio on Monday and turned them into well-produced videos, putting the finishing touches on their professional-looking talks. They will present their finished videos to classmates and teachers during the exam periods for English, History and Science. It is their final project for their first year of the integrated program. If history repeats itself, every video will leave the audience cheering. What do 9th graders think the meaning of life is? Some of their thoughts included the importance of: reading for mental health, listening to music to reduce stress, volunteering and how it affects your personal growth, spending time with friends, balancing relaxation and productivity, learning/gaining knowledge, finding happiness through gratitude, animals, swimming, sports, cycling as a way of therapy/exercise/passion, art helping with mental health and relaxation, friends/building community, spending time in nature, being a role model, having a pet to benefit your life,  helping others, creativity and self expression/worth, helping people feel better, being kind, being part of a running team, farming, spending time with friends/family, finding inspiration, horseback riding, reading literature, making human connection. There's some great advice in there! Thanks for sharing it, 9th graders!
