Week #12 - All-State and All-Conference Honors Abound this Fall

Tandem's varsity teams earned plenty of GPAC conference and VISAA state honors. Congratulations to all of our athletes and coaches on terrific seasons, and to these teams and individuals on their honors:

Varsity Volleyball: Lola G and Sofia S earned 1st Team honors and Maya S received Honorable Mention. The team was runner up in the conference championship and got to host two conference tournament matches.

Varsity Soccer: Since this year's team did not play in the GPAC conference, players were not eligible for conference honors, but Athletic Director Dave Levy points out that all four senior players - Oscar D, Owen S, Jack M and Luca RT played at an All-Conference Level. The team ended the season ranked 10th in the state, and played in a first round state tournament game. 

Varsity Cross Country: The boys team won both the state and conference division 3 titles, winning the state title for the third time in a row (in fact, their score was higher than the teams who won in divisions 1 and 2) . Five runners qualified for the All-State team - Hayes B (also named State Runner of the Year for the second year in a row), Jack B, Miles G, Peter W, and Gabriel S. The girls team placed 5th in the state, with Lucy L and Claire G making the All-State team. At the conference level, the boys team won the conference title, with seven runners making the All-Conference team - Hayes B (also named Conference Runner of the Year), Jack B, Miles G, Peter W, and Gabriel S, Brendan S and Jack J. The girls team came in second, with four runners making the All-Conference team - Lucy L, Claire G, Maeve M and Avery M. Coach Jason Farr was named GPAC Coach of the Year.
